Ornette Coleman - Free Jazz

this is as influential as it gets. the first explicity "free jazz" recording, this features Ornette, Eric Dolphy, Freddy Hubbard, Scott LaFaro, Billy Higgins, Don Cherry, Charlie Haden, and Ed Blackwell. this abum is actually pretty accessible, at least in comparison to what would later come from the scene this spawned.

Influential as it gets is about right...how often do you define a genre both musically and in words with the same album?! Just reviewed this one too on my music blog. Have a good one!
